Labor Day Fun

So do you have those moments where you think, "oh wouldnt it be fun to bake cookies with my little one?" And so you get out all the ingredients and 2 minutes into "mixing" you are regretting you ever decided to do it. And you end up barking out commands instead of "having fun" and saying, "no! the flour goes in the bowl!" "dont eat that!" "try hard to not mix so hard that it lands on the floor, ok??" Fun goes out the door and exasperation sets in. Well, amazingly, that wasnt the case this time and we DID have fun! So heres some pictures of my little girl making cookies and looking adorable w/ the yellow apron my sister made. I included the recipe too cause it was a good one!

Easy Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Cookies
1c. peanut butter
1/2c. honey (or less)
1/2c. butter, softened
1/2c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 - 1c oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla

Preheat to 350.
Mix sugar, honey, peanut butter, egg, butter, vanilla till smooth.
Mix dry ingredients together and stir it all together.
Roll into balls on greased cookie sheet.
Flatten slighty w/ fork.
Bake 13-15 minutes till slightly toasted on the edges.
*dough will be pretty soft, but just go w/ it.
